Co-Founder, Coconut Cartel Rum
Danielle Zighelboim, aka Dani Zig, is the co-founder and driving force behind Coconut Cartel, a pioneering rum brand that blends Latin American heritage with innovation. Graduating Magna Cum Laude in Entrepreneurship from Babson College, Dani, alongside her brother Mike, embarked on a mission to revolutionize the rum industry. Born to immigrant parents in Miami, their childhood in Central America nurtured a profound connection to the region's culture before returning to Miami as young adults. Their entrepreneurial journey took flight with a daring venture—smuggling coconuts from El Salvador—which ultimately germinated into the inception of Coconut Cartel in 2013. Fast forward to 2018, Coconut Cartel blossomed into a premium rum brand, marked by the launch of Coconut Cartel Special Añejo, an aged rum cut to proof using fresh coconut water instead of just water. Their commitment to sourcing directly from Latin American farmers and distillers, and their dedication to quality and authenticity, sets Coconut Cartel apart from the rest. For Dani, Coconut Cartel embodies more than just a product line; it symbolizes a platform to celebrate Latin American flavors, encapsulating traits of resilience, daring innovation, and unwavering excellence.
